We have just finished another successful year with the Trout in the Classroom program! We received 100 rainbow trout eggs at the end of January. We watched them hatch and grow over the last several months and were able to release 45 trout into McDevitt Pond on 4/22/2015!
A huge thank you goes out to our fish biologist, Tony Lamansky, for all his help! He brought our eggs to us, came in and spent time talking to the students about his job with Idaho Fish and Game, and then on release day, he brought 18 trout from the Nampa hatchery for us to dissect!
The following pictures are from our dissection and fish release.
